Today.
Today is the very last of the firsts. Time continued moving forward without her, past birthdays and holidays and all of those ordinary days in between. Yes, even in the most common of days, her absence was duly noted. Today marks the passing of first year since Sophie left this world and became our bitty angel.
We miss her, that peanuttiest girl of ours. Terribly. Yet even in our grief, we are thankful. We are thankful for each moment we had with her. Thankful for each and every heart she touched. Thankful for the friends we've since made who have walked paths all too similar to our own. We are thankful she is now watching over us as we once watched over her.
We love you, Sophie.

What a perfect title and beautiful way to honor the last year. Thoughts of Sophie have weighed heavy on our hearts the last few days. But all we have to do is look at the bitty girl's photograph and our hearts are a-smilin'. What a lesson in love and life, so much to learn from such a little girl. We love you.
