For Aunt Kris

Three hours after leaving home, with one potty stop within the first 15 minutes of our drive, we arrived at Horseshoe.  11:30pm.  It was just beginning to snow.  Again.

We were greeted at the top of the unplowed drive by a pile of provisions left by Laurie who lives next door.  A shovel marked the beginning of a path she'd packed down during the light of day.  A plastic sled, tethered to the shovel, contained lanterns both hand-held and headlamps.

We trudged thru the semi darkness, our goal the glowing lights and warmth of the cabin at the base of the drive.  Channing, who didn't sleep a wink on the drive up, excitedly asked, 'Is this a fun adventure?!?'

It was.  Indeed it was.

With morning, it continued.  A dunk in the hot tub signaled the day's beginning.  Another one tonight is likely to signal the day's end.

While WM worked in the apartment above, and we anxiously awaited Joe & Cassie's arrival, Channing and I made bunnies-fuzzy, sparkly bunnies-a sure sign of spring.  An extra trek was made to the car in search of Gatorade and a small boys' backpack containing an assortment of fruit snacks and match box cars.

Channing stole my camera and took this photo.  He's getting better with his photography skills.

Joe & Cassie finally arrived.  In a grand gesture of welcome, they helped Channing build his very first snowman.

I imagine tomorrow will bring more of the same, the hot tub, playing in the snow, enjoying the company of a favorite aunt & uncle.

Thanks to you Aunt Kris for allowing us this great pleasure.  Aloha to you & Jan.  [wink]

Doesn't Channing like the bubbles in the hot tub? Kaili was just starting to be OK with it and she was 9. (Today she turned 10.)
Sounds like you all had a wonderful time.
